Les Grandes Tables du Monde 2019, in partnership with Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino, has added 13 new members to their exclusive guide to some of the best restaurants in the world.
The new additions are mainly from Europe, with 10 restaurants from making the grade from France, Italy, Belgium and Germany with three listings from further afield, located in Hong Kong and the USA. Italian chef Umberto Bombana‘s eponymous 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana in Hong Kong has finally made the list as has Dominique Crenn‘s recently 3 Michelin starred Atelier Crenn, famous for its “poetic cuisine.”
Last year Les Grandes Tables du Monde pledged to improve the role of women in gastronomy and promote gender equality after completing a global survey. Read more here. As a result of one of their promises pledged, the names of women owners are now listed in the 2019 guide.
This year’s prestigious 65-year-old Les Grandes Tables du Monde guide includes 181 restaurants, from 25 countries. Each restaurant included in the guide is selected around “stringent admission criteria” based on “uncompromising excellence in terms of cuisine” an “exceptional sense of hospitality” and “unique dining environments, many of which are in iconic destinations with a prestigious past.”
